Ziauddin University played a defining role in my journey by
providing me with a strong technical foundation and, more importantly, a
mindset of discipline, curiosity, and problem-solving. The hands-on exposure,
faculty mentorship, and collaborative environment helped me develop the
confidence to tackle real-world healthcare challenges beyond the classroom.
After graduation, I gained experience through research and
academic roles, including serving as a Research Assistant (RA) and
a Teaching Assistant (TA) experience that sharpened my ability to explain
complex concepts, manage responsibilities, and deliver results under pressure.
Professionally, I also worked with Madsci, a company developing brain-implant
technologies, where I gained exposure to high-stakes engineering and innovation
in neurotechnology (with backing from major global investors, including Google).
Academically, I continued to push forward and was accepted
to UIUC, pursuing a joint graduate pathway that spanned
both UIUC and UIC in Biomedical Engineering. This broadened my
research exposure and strengthened my multidisciplinary approach. Along the
way, I also progressed through the selection process with Microsoft;
however, I couldn???t pursue that opportunity due to visa-related
restrictions, a challenge that taught me the importance of
resilience and adaptability.
My advice to current students is simple: start early, pursue
internships, research, projects, mentors, and effective communication. Ziauddin
can be a powerful launchpad if you combine your education with initiative. I???m
proud to represent Ziauddin and look forward to giving back through mentorship
and student support.
