Ziauddin North America Chapter Successfully Launched At APPNA 46th Annual Convention 2023.

Ziauddin North America Chapter, a platform dedicated to fostering professional growth and collaboration among Ziauddin Medical University graduates, was successfully launched on Friday, July 7, at the esteemed APPNA 46th Annual Convention held at Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Arshad Rehan, the President of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA). Dr. Rehan's words emphasized the importance of continued professional development and highlighted the commendable achievements of Ziauddin Medical University graduates in North America.

Adding grandeur to the occasion, the Chief Guest of the event was the esteemed Founding Registrar of Ziauddin Medical University, Dr Jawed Aziz whose presence served as a testament to the legacy and vision of Sir Dr Ziauddin Ahmad (late) and his son Dr Asim Hussain, Chancellor of Ziauddin University. The event also welcomed Dr. Haris Rashid Shaikh, Chairman of the Surgery Department at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, along with distinguished guests of honor, Dr. Imran Siddiqui and Dr. Rizwan Naeem, both former faculty members of Biochemistry at Ziauddin Medical University and esteemed members of the APPNA Board of Directors.

Dr. Mehmood Khan, the President, and Dr. Zohra Nooruddin, the Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the Ziauddin Alumni Association of North America, extended their heartfelt appreciation for the commitment demonstrated by Dr. Aamir Ehsan, CEO of Corepath and a Diplomat of the American Board of Pathology and Genetics, as well as Dr. Muhammad Sanaullah, MD, CEO of Optimum Care Hospitalist Group & Post Acute Care, and CMO of OU Health Edmond Oklahoma 2018-2023. Their generous offer to provide clinical rotations and observer-ships to Ziauddin Medical graduates each year will undoubtedly contribute to their professional growth and enhance their medical expertise.

The event witnessed active participation from distinguished Ziauddin medical graduates, representing both senior and junior batches. Notable attendees included Dr. Umber Enam, Dr. Imtiaz Rasul, Dr. Sadaf Jawad, Dr. Sarah Tufael Ahmed, Dr. Sadaf Siddiqui, Dr. Zainab Abidi, Dr. Urooj Basit Shibli, Dr. Zainab Mehkari, Dr. Areeb Sohail Bangash, and Dr. Shahzeem Bhayani. Their presence served as a testament to the spirit of unity and camaraderie among Ziauddin alumni.
